How do i make a boring tea party fun?

Im off to a tea party at a friend but don't know anyone going and im not one for sitting around sipping tea all afternoon... anyone got ideas that will keep me entertained while im there? i don't want to be rude because she is a close friend...Help!

1. -imagine what their mates look like? -think about what they were like as teens? -try & come away with one story from everyone there? -think of a different random semi-embellished story you can tell them about yourself
2. why don't you make your own little pastries and make them from scratch and share stories get different kind of tea sit outside
