How did the americans overcome the blockade by the british during the boston tea party?

Im doing a paper on the boston tea party and i can find everything else except how they got rid of King james blockade.

If I remember correctly, the Blockade was not lifted until after Knox brought the cannons from Fort Ticonderoga and placed them on Dorchester Heights - March 4, 1775. Then the British evacuated Boston. - March 17, 1775.
