Any ideas on how to get my dogs involved with crafts for Christmas gifts?

This is an odd question, I know. But my mother in law really loves crafts, and our three dogs. I was thinking about getting our dogs involved in making stuff for her for a Christmas present. Maybe have them put their paw prints all over something with paint or something. But I can't think of any good ideas. I tried looking it up online, but couldn't find anything. Apparently this is a weird idea! Any awesome ideas? I'd love the help. Thanks!!

  1. Paw prints on some framed pictures of them? Or a shirt with paw prints from them on it? Sign a card with their prints and names.
  2. Every year I decorate stockings with the kids in our family. Their poor mothers have tons of the dang things, but they are really cute. This year I plan on making one for my dog as this is his first holiday with us. I do plan on using his paw print to help decorate it. For my handmade holiday cards this year, to my friends who are fellow pet lovers, I'm going to send a photo of me and my dog plus use his paw print to make some sort of holiday scene on the front of the card. Like maybe turn his paw into a tree somehow. Not sure exactly how yet, but something along those lines. I'll make it up as I go along, lol!
  3. You could do a whole kitchen theme in dog prints...dish rags, dish towels, hot mitts, apron and a cook book cover. You could do it in colors that match her kitchen or just in brown to make them look like dirty prints. You could do a tote bag. Most craft stores will have different objects that you can put the paint on. OOhh and for you FIL you could do a tie or hanky
  4. that is a great idea for christmas! i love arts and crafts myself and also have 3 dogs! here are a few ideas i thought of: paw prints: -on a picture frame -candle -shirt boxers/shorts -blanket -pillow case -buy a wood chair and decorate it and put the paw prints on it -flower vase -magnet -door hanger -make paw print ornaments -put paw prints on a gift box, with present inside. -stocking -- buy some sort of dog statue or something similar and put each dogs paw print on it --dip paws in a cement thing that u can buy from a craft store so you can cherrish it forever (wash paws off immediately) get the dogs all dressed up in christmas sweaters, with collars with bells on them, take pictures, and put in a paw printed photo frame. you can also easily make your own bell collar, just go buy a cheap collar from the dollar store, and sew as many bells on as you want, but be careful so the dogs dont chew them! only recommend the collars be on while u are able to keep an eye on them, take collars off when u arent able to. hope u like some of my ideas! sounds like its going to be fun!!!!
  5. Go to Walmart.com (under photography, photo developing or something like that) and look at what you can have printed with photos you have taken. I had my two border collies picture put on a mouse pad. You can have this done on coffee cups, pillow cases, totes, etc., etc., etc., and the price isn't too bad either. If you don't want to do it on line, you can do it in the store. A few other stores are Walgreens and some chain grocery stores. Have fun!!!
  6. Here are two ideas based on my own personal experience. When I was in kindergarten my teacher had us all make hand prints in clay and then fired and glazed them. There is clay available that doesn't need to be fired. Its nice to hang on the wall. My husband has a similar clay disc with his old dog's paw print in it. She has now passed away so it is a nice reminder of her. We recently took our own dog to the dog beach. There were very beautiful shells that I collected and glued onto a picture frame. We took a picture of our dog frolicking at the beach so now we have a frame made with physical bits of the beach and the visual memory of the picture. You could do a similar take on this, even if you don't live near a beach (i.e dog park themed, etc)
