How much money can I make waiting tables if I get a good job at a nice restaurant in Murrieta CA?
I have 2 years of waitressing experience and I just need to make sure I will make enough money if I do nove out there and wait tables. Some answers from people who do wait tables would be nice. Thanks!

- well i used to wait tables and i used to earn £6 and hour am not sure what that will be were u are though.
- You would make minimum wage, plus tips. Right now minimum wage is $7.50 hr and going to $8.00 an hour in January. The variable is the tips. Some people make a lot in tips, others not so much. It also depnds on the shifts you work. You mention that you are thinking of moving to Murrieta. I don't know where you are moving from but you also have to remember the cost of living. It might be much higher than where you live now, so $8.00 hour, plus tips may sound like alot but wouldn't be depending upon the cost of living.
- ok, I've waited tables in the past. Choose either a high volume restaurant or a "high class", bottom line, personality and good service will get you the tips. Doesnt it suck when you give those and they still dont tip? Always made me mad.
- All tips depend on the restaurant. Casual dining (Friday's , Olive Garden, Applebys, etc) will have lower check averages so to make big money you will have to be good enough to rate the busy shifts and strong enough legs to run your butt off for them. Better quality, high end houses will generate a higher check and therefore more tips but the competition for shifts is usually pretty fierce.
