Bday Party- What are good things to decorated all the picnic tables with?

I'm covering them all with table cloths, but the plates and cups and things will be on the food table, so the picnic tables will all be bare. What are some good things to put on them to make them look nicer?

  1. naked women
  2. Table Cover for starters. Candles. Hankerchief (sp). Balloons. Umbrellas. Ashtrays. Snowglobes. Pennies. A cat. 2 POINTS!
  3. What's the theme? Maybe small fish bowls with colored pebbles and goldfish in them, and give them out to guests as door prizes.
  4. A picture of the birthday girl/boy and some balloons. Maybe some candles, or a nice flower arrangement. If you are serving beer, put a metal bucket of ice and beer on the table with balloons tied to it.
  5. I just saw some beautiful ideas in the Martha Stewart magazine - have a look on her website - colored paper lanterns and bright table runners to match - so pretty and really bright - Maybe you could have bowls filled with trailing boston ivy and bright pink (or whatever your color theme) gerbera daisies - I went to a wedding once and the bride was on a budget and she did this - she used empty margarine tubs with a little pink paper wrapped around them - she jammed them full of "oasis" a florist green foam - available from craft/fabric stores or florist - very cheap and then added long sprigs of ivy and the daisies - you then pour a little water into the foam which makes the tub heavy and keeps it from blowing away if it is a windy day. The ivy runs along the table and fills the bowl and the flowers brighten it up - you can put a single candle in the centre if you like or tiny sparkling stars on sticks, or you can even get wooden skewers with metallic sprays on the end that look like little fireworks (available from party stores) or anything festive (tiny paper fruits, etc). Or make mini signs saying "happy birthday" and print on pretty paper and stick back to back with a skewer and put into the tub. I think this would look pretty - be easy - be economical as well! You could make it fancy - roses and ivy and white candles if you like, or keep it simple, daisies and ivy.
