How can I prevent my glass tables from getting scratched?

They are Ashley tables and my brother said his tables got scratched from different things but I thought nothing could scratch glass but diamond?? Any suggestions?? Is there anything I can spray on it? Like a coating of some sort?

2. well to begin you could just not scratch it.. but other things can definately scratch glass.. i think glass is somewhere around 5 out of 1-10 of hardness level. so mostly metal things will scratch the glass.
