Inversion Tables? Does anyone have (or had) an inversion table? And if so, was it any good? I am trying to find a good one for my boyfriend for Christmas, but some didn't get very good reviews! Does anyone know of any good quality inversion tables?
Anyone ever had a bad experience with inversion tables? Just curious if anyone has ever had a negative experience using an inversion table, or heard of a negative experience using one. I don't mean buying one and not getting any benefit, but using one and like, breaking your back or something.
Gravity inversion tables-What brands are good and which are junk? How do you go about starting your regiment? What kind do you have? Do you think it is good quality? Has it helped your back? Do you need to do a full inversion to get good results or can you just go 1/4 of the way down? How long do you invert for? How many times a day do you do it? Please advise if you think they would help for someone with a degenerated and hernated discs? Do you know of a good book or information about how to do it? Do inversion tables help one grow? How can you grow taller with inverson table? Gravity pull decompress your spinal column when you are standing upright, thus you are a few inches shorter than your real 'natural' height. Consistent usage of inversion table enables you to reverse this decompression process and restore your natural height. Inversion table is excellent not only for stretching the spine, it also helps to pull and lengthen your knee cartilage at the same time ^ True?
Inversion Tables: do they work for you? I am thinking about purchasing a "Stamina" Inversion Table. Those of you who have inversion tables, how long did you have to use them before your back pains went away? Do the pains stay away? Or do you have to regularly go back on the table? How long do you stay on? I specifically have lower back pains (Sciatica). A g/f of my g/f says it has made her period cramps less painful. Anyone note that happening in their life?

Chiropractors, inversion tables and Asians...? My mom asked a chiropractor yesterday about using inversion tables and he said Asians (we are Asian) being more "prone to stroke" shouldn't use them since the blood rushing to the head could thin out the lining of the bloodvessels in the brain... or something to that effect. Is he completely bonkers? I use an inversion table and rather enjoy hanging upside down, should I continue to do so? He may have incentive to embellish since he has a similar machine that stretches your back without the inverting...question is how valid were his claims?

Anybody out there use an Inversion Table? I have scoliosis, and was wondering if anyone out there had or knew about using the inversion tables (where it tips you upside down to lessen the stress on your spine). I'm thinking of getting one to help with back pain and scoliosis

Anyone ever have pain in their stomach / abs after using an inversion table? Just curious, I've been using an inversion table for about 3 days now, just for a couple minutes at a time about 3x a day, and it feels like a light stomach ache or something since the last time I used it. I'm definitely stopping till the pain goes away - which so far has persisted for 12 hours. It isn't a sharp pain, just kinda like a pulled muscle kind of pain. Anyone else ever get this from using an inversion table?
Sould I really be worried about my friend's warning regarding the dangers of inversion tables? My friend is a physical therapist, and does mostly in-home visits for people recovering from illnesses and accidents. Last night, I mentioned to her that I was seriously considering getting some type of inversion table. I have very bad lower and upper back pain, and my posture is pretty poor. My friend's response was, "Well okay, if you want to risk causing yourself to have a stroke, or an embolism or aneurism of some kind." I was shocked. I've never heard of such a thing, but she swears it happens. Any advice from someone who is not as much of a know-it-all as my friend has a tendency to be?
can an inversion table help correct anterior pelvic tilt? I have anterior pelvic tilt. Until recently I was un aware. I have started doing exercises to strengthen my glutes and core as well as stretches to open up my hips more. Would an inversion table help me solve my problem as well? what other exercises or apparatus can help?
Has anyone within 'earshot' had any sort of lower back pain relief with an inversion table? I may have a pinched nerve in my lower back. In any case, it's a dull, intermittent pain that is more nagging and chronic than severe and acute. But I cannot get relief. Has anyone tried an inversion table as a means of stretching the spine and lower back muscles, possibly relieving pressure on the nerves down there? I'm looking to try and remedy this myself before I go to a doctor. Thanks.
Inversion tables and Kyphosis? I am a 31 year old male that just started working out again, cardio and weight training. One part of my body I always thought was permanent was my kyphosis (mild-moderate humping in upper back) Then I read about rolfing a few years ago and how it has helped some people actually straighten the spine. There are no rolfers within 250 miles of me, and from what I understand it is a 10 session deal. I think I also read where rolfing was to counteract the forces of gravity. Then I saw an ad for Teeters hang ups last week, and I am VERY curious to try this out. Has anyone had any success with better posture/reducing "hump back" with this device?? I've heard where people have actually grown an inch sometimes, and I would have to believe that would be a result of a straighter back. I think I am going to get one regardless, but I'm trying to keep my expectations based in reality on what I can expect from it.
I have a bulging disc and degenerative disc disease has anyone had success with an inversion table? I am on serious pain meds but am getting tired of taking them, also went to first treatment of PT and traction table today, and I am suffering. I had to take 5 of these tablets (percocet 7.5) over three hours to get any relief. Has anyone tried an inversion table and had success before I go buy one? Any other success stories besides a shot into the spine? I don't think I can do that. I would almost rather have surgery than have a shot into my spine I really really really do not do well with needles. And if so what is a good model or brand name? Has anyone heard of invertek? They are on eBay for like $100.
In theory can't an inversion table make you taller? Height gain from an inversion table is temporary, however in theory, if you were to invert on a regular basis could you not maintain at least half an inch to an inch of height? Becuase you dont lose the height all at once, and on top of that if you maintain that until you go to bed you wont lose it becuase you will gain some height when u are sleeping? Anyone agree?
Will inversion therapy contribute to my final height? I've heard that inversion therapy temporarily stretches out your spinal discs in an adult, but I'm 14 years old, 5'8.5", and as far as growth stages go, I have a thin, scraggly chin and lip beard things, and a moustache. Is it true that inversion tables can stimulate longer bone/cartilage growth in a growing teen? And please, informative answers only... "You'll be tall enough. You're still growing." doesn't really answer my question... Thanks much. =)
