Film Director or Sports Agent/Coach (Financial Aid?)? Well it's my senior year old high school so I have alot of college stuff to do. I have a small list of colleges that I've come up with based upon me wanting to study Sports Management with hopes to become a sports agent or coach or something in the athletic world. Now I've always wanted to be a director, but then through most of high school Sports Management has always seemed like my true major, but lately I've been thinking more towards film directing. Now I would love to major in one and minor in another, but using CollegeBoard, no colleges in New England (I'd like to stay in NE, specifically MA) offer both. My colleges I've come up with for Sports Management are: American International Anna Maria Umass Amherst Western New England Becker Mount Ida And the one college in MA that offers Film Production according to CollegeBoard is: Fitchburg. My question is, which career path would you follow or do you think would be easier/more successful? Any pros/cons would be helpful and any thoughts are great too! And if you know any other colleges or majors that would fit here please tell! Also, sorry this is really long, but can you explain financial aid to me? I am honestly very lost with this whole college thing. CollegeBoard gives tuition (is that the main cost?), then room & board, books and supplies, personal expenses, and transportation expenses. How can we get more money from the college for my son? my son will enter college next year. He has recieved appx 10,000 in scholarship money. That leaves his mom and I with a balance of about 26,000 to come up with a year. His mom and I are separated pending diverce and the financial aid pkg is based on her income. trying to financial aid for a friend? I attend a private college so athletic scholarships are not given. Also tuition fees are extremly high as well, so it is hard to pay for college without any aid. Why are women more easily in tears then men because of physical pain? During my life I have seen many people injured: first as a sportsman, then as a professional coach, and recently offering my attendance as a volunteer to a first aid station located in a famous skiing centre. In spite of the fact that women are considered to have higher pain threshold then men, I noticed that they are very frequently in tears when they are in pain, often really crying, while men can be noisy but hardly ever in tears. This is a fact, a statistic based on a very high number of events, that can't be refuted. Personally I don't think there is anything wrong in crying when hurt, I'd just like to know why women do it more easily (regardless of age, status etc.). Is it due to physical, psychological or educational reasons? Let me know your opinions.

What are the best weight training exercises for a competitive high jumper and what is the correct form..? I am a high and long jumper and jumps coach. I have been training using plyometrics, sprints and hill running but would like to add a few weights/resistance exercises. Squats and calf raises are no-brainers. I have heard that thigh extensions only add definition, not useful jumping muscle. What about hamstring curls? Clean and jerk? Snatch? I have even heard that bench presses aid explosive sports! Also that the heaviest weights develop fast twitch muscle fibres. Some links or ideas as to correct form would be appreciated, before I wreck myself. I am 42 years old and jump 1.65 metres.

I apologize for the lack of attention to my courses in previous semesters and I do not blame anyone but myself for this consequence, however, I wish to explain the circumstances. In September 2009 I was diagnosed with influenza (flu). I was out of school for 2 weeks, which caused me to miss two exams in my History 1302 class. As I returned to class I was far behind and already had zeros for the missed exams. I tried to catch up, but was unfortunate. I dropped my history 1302 class after having a discussion with my professor, (name) , who recommend my drop and decided I take the course next semester. Which is exactly what my intensions are, I am registered for history 1302 this spring 2010 semester, and I have no doubt this course will be passed. Last semester (fall 2009), I received my midterm grades, received satisfactory for all classes. I was amazed because the one class I was worried about, Biology 2401, was also satisfactory. This course was my toughest one last semester. I had thoughts of dropping but figured I was doing well in the class, but things did not work out as planned. I received an F in the class. The course is extremely tough, and I take full responsibility for my failure. Taking the course over is a definite action, and since I have already been through a whole semester of it, there is not doubt I will pass this class in the future. Although a dropped class and a failed class took place last semester, I am very pleased with my other grades. I received an (A) in EDKN 1137, a (B) in EDKN 4315, and a (C) in SPAN 1373. I believe these grades show my effort and ability to be successful. This semester I plan to achieve high expectations in all courses. I have come up with a list of steps I plan to follow to be successful and never be in this situation again. 1. I have resigned my job in order to concentrate on my priority, school. 2.Obtain a tutor for classes I find difficult. Become familiar with the Hoggie Aces. 3.Meet with my Professor and discuss how to become a better student in their class 4.Work on time management to balance my time to study for each class. 5. Go to class on time. I am majoring in Kinesiology. I plan to become a coach and a Spanish teacher. Changing the lives of the next generation and teaching them is my goal. This is very important to me and without financial aid, I lack the financial ability to do this. I am sure that you know what a huge honor and accomplishment it is to obtain a degree. The German Martingale as a training aid;; Benefits? I have a horse who I am currently training to go round, and use himself properly. He is a STB/QH and he does pace when he is out of balance. I have recently begun using a german martingale on him as my coach suggested it. So far he goes very well in it, and he seems alot more balanced in all three gaits. Is this Staff infection or something else? OK. I wrestle and I got these zit like things on the bag of my neck. They form yellow scabs but they don't seem as bad as staff. when the scabs come off, clear liquid comes out. They don't hurt unless I pick them and when there's no scabs it just looks like acne. Are these zits? Impetigo? Staff? Ringworm? AIDS? What? My coaches do not know what it is.

Lifeguard first aid worry? I am a lifeguard, and the dive coach at the pool I work at was helping a girl who cut her foot. The coach had just put her gloves on, and she had to leave the room, so she asked me to treat the girl. I went in, and tried to put on the gloves, which I found out were much too small for my hands. I said in a joking manner, "I'll assume you don't have AIDs, and I just won't touch your cut". I said this more or less to make conversation with this 12-13 year old girl. I am 15, and my question is, is what I said very unprofessional? I am not worried about the fact that I didn't wear gloves, but that I made the girl feel uncomfortable with what I said. Every time they clash, every time the take a hit, they'll spray it, or ice it or go to a physio - my guy will go to the physio for ridiculous things like tight hamstrings (see my other question!). Surely this is bad coaching? I have my reservations about the coach anyway, I think he is good in some areas, not so good in others. Shouldn't someone doing a martial art work on resistance and accepting the pain that comes with mistakes, instead of constantly using external aids? I know they have conditioning sessions in karate classes. Is there such thing in Taekwondo or am I just being an unsympathetic old shrew? Owch, I wouldn't say he was a sissy, it's just the way he's been taught to deal with it. I did kickboxing for a number of years, and the bruises I got were just an indication as to how much I needed to learn! The poor lad broke his leg in November, just a clean tibial break, no displacement, but the ice spray started long before that. His coach didn't even know his leg was broken - he told him it wasn't! Who is he to be making judgements like that?!

(south amboy)? total kids 6,2r teens that live w/ her 15yrold girl that helps mom after school & 17 boy who is on the footballteam & has a very good chance @ doing something w/ the sport. the older ones do not assist her at all yes she has asked for help. hispanic, 42yr old had a brain embelism that left her paralized on right side. currently on SSI which just cut back the $ amount. welfare has not assisted since June. yes she has gone to her case worker who told her to go to a shelter & tell her kids who r doing well in school to get jobs(what kid of job can a 17 yr old get that going to really help out @ home?) coach says he has good potential & he should attend all practices.no she has no other family in the states. what other sources in NJ can she reach out to for help. phone numbers,organizations, church groups or any thing that can give her some direction to go in would help. names & addresses to people/offices that can help would greatly be appreciated. a group that helps disabled moms mayb?

Finacial aid and college questions for a non-traditonal student. Help please!!? Hello- I am 32 years old and already hold a BS degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I really was not sure what I wanted to do and as you can imagine the degree not helpful for any solid career path. I would like to go back to school to become a therapist (not a clinical psychologist). I am more interested in Life Coaching, Therapy, Self-help, and even organizational and development psych as a consultant. I recently moved to Chicago area and not sure of the best schools or programs for this, or where to start to network and maybe find a mentor. Also, my credit is bad, and still owe with student loans from before and waitressing right now just to make ends meet and care for my basic living expenses. I am a new Semi Pro football player in need of a sponsor But I don't know how to get one. HELP!? This year I will be playing on a semi-pro football league in Vancouver, WA. You have to buy your own gear when you start. (I.e pads, pants, all gear pretty much) Its pretty expensive for me since I am a full time college student living off financial aid. My coach said if I can get a sponsor, the team will pay for all of my gear. I dont have a clue however on how to even go about that. What do I do?
